The story starts out in 1996, while I was travelling the US and Mexico.
My girlfriend and I were living in the Arizona desert, and I decided to build myself a couple more drums, as much for the experience as for the end result.
When folks saw me working on them in our camp, there was instant interest; the drums were sold as soon as they were done. It had never occured to me
to build for others - and I had no idea that one of the best Journeys of my life had just begun.

Mandy and I continued our travels, covering a circuit of Barter Faires and music festivals
for several years, following the sun from the Pacific Northwest to Arizona and Mexico as the seasons passed.
All the while I built my drums wherever we were camped, using a generator and a portable awning to set up the workshop
wherever we found ourselves - the entire drumshop was torn down and stored in 16 foot long by 8 foot wide box on top
our 1959 converted school bus!

After 4 more years of touring with the drums, my passion for designing and creating drums was clear - we decided to move back to my home
town in Prince Edward Island, Canada to focus on following the path of the drum. We built a dedicated workshop nestled in the woods
and I continue to invent and produce new percussion products every year.

| This company has grown considerably since our workshop on the roof of the bus, and I celebrated my 10th year of
drumbuilding with the opening of the Funkfactory Drum Shop, a full service drum store featuring my own line, EastCoast Drumcraft,
as well as drums built for Funkfactory in Indonesia, Africa, and all the brand standards as well. Thanks to all
those that support my craft over the years, in North America and beyond!

My daughter Fallyn gets down on the drum kit - look out folks, second generation drummer here!

| Our good friend Maya explores the relationship between sound, vibration, and fun by making the sticks dance around
on the skin while playing.
